SH Activities from Mar 2025 to Jan 2026

10th March 2026

Stop Hinkley continues to be very busy.  We join national meetings of the office of Nuclear Regulation and Department for Energy, Security and Net Zero, organised for anti-nuclear NGOs.  Since some of these have been virtual meeting more of us have been able to take part.  It is a very useful network with other NGO’s and SH has shared our knowledge of HPC with Sizewell NGO’s.  Katy has worked closely with the ONR and is responsible for developing a very positive working relationship with them.

The Community Forum for Hinkley Point C is attended regularly by Roy and Allan and the Site Stakeholders group  for Hinkley A and B is attended by Allan and Alan Debenham. More: SH Activities 2025-6

What is the real cost of nuclear power?

No one knows, until the final bill for dealing with the waste has been totted up in thousands of years. EdF and the UK government are planning to dump the waste, and the costs of managing it, onto future generations.

Stop Hinkley was founded in 1983

We played a major part in the 14-month public enquiry in 1988/9  and continued to campaign for alternative renewable energy sources and energy conservation measures.

The closure of Hinkley A was announced in May 2000 as a result of our campaigning.
